About the Journal

Edutec, Revista Electrónica de Tecnología Educativa (ISSN-e:1135-9250) is an international journal that has been publishing articles of reflection generated in the field of Educational Technology on a quarterly basis (March, June, September and December) since 1995. Edutec's main objectives are to disseminate research work and experiences from our professional environment and to serve as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

The journal Edutec is edited by the Educational Technology Group (https://gte.uib.es/), a research group of the University of the Balearic Islands and is sponsored by EDUTEC (Association for the Development of Educational Technology) (http://edutec.es/).

 

Focus and Scope

The editorial line is aimed at publishing research results, studies, experiences, essays and reviews related to educational technology, aimed at researchers, experts, professionals and postgraduate students related to the area. Edutec publishes works in Spanish and English.
 
The Edutec magazine is part of a broad project of dissemination of work and exchange of ideas on the Internet sponsored by Edutec (Association for the development of educational technology, http://www.edutec.es) which also includes Edutec-L (educational technology distribution list http://www.rediris.es/list/info/edutec-l.html).  
 
 
Dishonest practices: plagiarism or scientific fraud

The journal will work to ensure that the work submitted for evaluation is rigorous and ethically appropriate.

Edutec. Revista Electrónica de Tecnología Educativa submits all manuscripts it receives to the plagiarism and self-plagiarism software iThenticate by Crossref Similarity Check, in order to verify the originality of the manuscripts and that the original documents have been cited correctly.  If dishonest practices are detected during the evaluation process, the evaluation process will be interrupted and the submission will be rejected. If it is detected at a later stage, a retraction note will be issued.

 
Declaration on ethics and good practices of the journal
This journal is fully committed to ensuring high quality in its published works, as well as ensuring the good practice of the review committee.
We intend to respond to the needs of our readers and authors in such a way that we ensure quality in their publications by respecting their content in each article and protecting their material.
 
To ensure this quality, we make a selection of articles that are blind and peer-reviewed by external evaluators. In addition, the confidentiality of the data of our authors and evaluators throughout the review process is guaranteed.
We also make clear our commitment to confidentiality in the face of possible claims or complaints that reach the different committees of the journal.
 
However, the rejection of plagiarism is well-defined in the profile of the journal, being totally forbidden. In fact, the authors have to verify and accept a document fulfilling these requirements associated to the materials they present, which should be original and of their own.

Frequency of publication

The periodicity of EDUTEC journal is quarterly, so that 4 issues are published per year, in the months of March, June, September and December.

The new numbers will be published openly through the Open Journal System (OJS).

 

Preservation and open access policy

Edutec uses the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve all published content. The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, seamless perpetual access, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content.

This journal provides immediate free access to its content under the principle of making research freely available to the public, which encourages greater global knowledge sharing.

All published works are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) licence.
