Educational Digital Platforms, Data Usage, Family Opinions, Quantitative MethodologyAbstract
The gradual process of technological adoption in society is mirrored in the educational sector through the use of digital platforms in institutions. This educational process is imbued with data generation stemming from the daily use of these platforms. This study seeks to ascertain the opinions of families regarding such usage, and how these opinions vary depending on the educational stage of the students. A survey protocol was administered to a total of 2,336 families with children in primary or secondary education. The results indicated that these opinions were divided into positive aspects, concerns related to the data usage generated by the platforms, and concerns about the learning process itself. Moreover, significant differences were observed based on the educational stage of the students in terms of positive opinions and concerns about data usage. However, regarding the learning process, the educational stage did not serve as a moderating factor.
