This paper presents an investigation into some of the virtual materials available online from a sample of WebQuests and multimedia teaching units. The study soughts to determine the proposed didactic models, their strengths and weaknesses as well as their feasibility for the development of the curriculum as an alternative to the textbook. The content analysis highlights that there is still a long way to go in this direction.
