Participation in the culture of media convergence allows users to move from media consumption to content production; and this translates into learning whose characteristics transmedia learning attempts to recreate, from a didactic point of view. In this context, this article seeks to analyse the relationship between the transmedia profile of university students and their informal learning practices, by means of an exploratory quantitative study. This preliminary analysis confirms that the most advanced profiles in terms of content production (critical prosumers) are particularly prone in their informal learning to mobilising collaborative strategies and skilfully managing information needs. However, in general, the leap to production and publication is not general among university students, neither in formal nor in informal contexts.
