Based on the initial concept of learning ecosystem formulated by Wilkinson (2000) we propose a model to design a learning and educational management ecosystem that meets the needs of the processes involved in an educational institution or an educational system.
The seven characteristics presented belong to a strategic field. By using this model, educational managers can design an architecture of the technological ecosystem based in components that guarantees an efficient answer of technology to the strategic needs of the organization.
This proposal is the result of an exhaustive research and is applicable in different stages, from an educational institution up to an educational system at regional or national level.
