Breakout EDU as key element in gamification experiences carried out on pre-service teaching degrees

In this paper we present a teaching strategy based on gamifying through the implementation of two breakoutsEdu in higher education. The main aim was to increase motivation and enhance students to deal with the subject contents. This methodological strategy was carried out in an optional subject from the Primary Education Degree. After carrying out both breakoutsEdu, undergraduate students answered an ad hoc survey so as to evaluate their satisfaction, the difficulties found while doing the activities and whether if they would incorporate these new methodologies to their teaching when they ended up their degree. The results show a high level of motivation on students and outstand the fact that gamification permits collaboration working while favouring the acquisition of key competencies and contents
