Abstract

Digital Storytelling (DST) is an educational strategy that is used to develop creativity and enhance narrative skills in students at different educational levels. A pre-experimental quantitative approach research was carried out in a kindergarten in Peru with the main objective of verifying the improvement of creativity after the experience with the DST strategy. Seventy children aged 5 and 6  participated using the Sumaq Willakuy (Pretty Tale) tool, a software designed for creating digital narratives for early childhood education children. The instrument applied in the study is the TCI (Infant Creativity Test). The results indicate that there are significant differences between the pre-test and the post-test in the global score of child creativity (PD), especially in the variables process or product (PDB) and added figures (PDC). No significant differences were found based on age and sex. It is concluded that the use of DST has improved the creative capacity of children. To that effect, the DST strategy through the tool used can be applied in other similar contexts to develop children's creativity.
