The present study reviews the recently published scientific literature on the use and impact of robotics in the area of Mathematics of Primary Education, with the aim of: (a) analyzing and evaluating the quality of the available scientific literature; (b) investigating the use of robotics as a pedagogical tool in the stage and area mentioned above; (c) identifying and analyzing the main trends and findings in the scientific literature on the use of robotics. The search was conducted in the databases Dialnet, Scopus, WoS and EBSCOhost. The results suggest that educational robotics generally acts as an element of learning enhancement, improving their computational thinking and problem solving skills and their spatial skills. However, this is not always the case, due to the fact that there are studies that report situations in which there is no improvement in learning. These results are discussed in terms of their implications for future research and, in turn, may provide useful and interesting information for educators, practitioners and researchers.
