The integration of ICT in university centers: the vision of managers

Abstract

El The role of university leaders in the incorporation of ICT in their Centers will not be easy to exercise, since they must face significant changes in scientific, economic and technological level that will determine to a large extent the success of this integration. The objective of this research was to describe the processes of incorporation of ICT in the context of the University of Coruña. The study participants were the managers of all the Centers of the UDC. A qualitative research is presented, being the data collection techniques used the interview and the analysis of documents. The managers consulted have promoted the incorporation of ICT in all the centers of the UDC, but they agree that there have been some problems for the integration of these tools in their Centers, among which are the insufficiency of equipment, the absence of A specialized staff that can solve the technical problems, and lack of teacher training in the use of ICT. The directors of the UDC are committed to continue assuming their responsibilities to achieve quality teaching through the intensive use of ICT.
