This study analyzes the effect of a collaborative environment on the learning of freshmen students of higher education. Collaborative forums were developed, where the student participates continuously during the duration of the course. Each forum considers aspects related to the type of information of the message and the level of depth of the contribution given. The results of the forum to triangulate them with the final notes obtained by the students, show that the effect of the use of collaborative processes through forums is positive, in addition, notes that greater depth in messages occurs in those students who have actively participated in the forums, ie, the more involved the largest student forums is the depth reached.
