Abstract

This paper aims at establishing a practical model for an application for mobile devices (App) for university distance education subjects. We begin with an introduction to distance learning based on mobile devices and look at existing Apps. Our methodology includes creating a theoretical model and an experimental phase developing an App for the subject of "Operations Management". Based on the results we establish the desired practical model. Our findings are that Apps must be developed both for smartphones and tablets and compatible for Android and iOS. We also include a specification of the modules such App should contain.
