Abstract

The advance in mobile devices and ubiquitous Internet, have turning social networks into part of the daily lives of young people. Considering the potentialities of Facebook, this article describes the integration of this social network as a tool for collaborative learning. The experience has been carried out in the subject Technologies of Information and Communication, in the Early Childhood Education Degree of Basque Country University. The pre and post evaluation of the subject´s objectives shows that students improve the different areas of their digital competence. In addition, students value positively the incorporation of the social network, highlighting the benefits they get from knowledge sharing, interaction and collaborative learning.
