Higher education has generated digital transformation processes that affect all its educational and management processes. This article presents how the 11 centres that make up the International Benchmarking Group, made up of Canadian, North American, European, Asian and Australian centres, have developed this transformation through a qualitative, narrative research, which has used interviews with the 11 directors, deans or rectors of the group's member institutions to reveal the keys to the success of the transformation related to the context and training, describing some specific features of music high education that condition the digitisation process. The results lead to a sample of good practices that can be inspiring for other institutions of the same nature that have not started digital transformation processes and point out the challenges they will have to face in order for higher music education to enter the digital era alongside the rest of higher education institutions.
